Fecal Egg Counts

Fecal Egg Count (FEC) and Fecal Egg Count Reducation Test (FECRT)

$20 for a FEC and FECRT per animal*

Deworming your animal and not sure what's the best wormer to use? Trying to prevent antihelminitic resistance? Starting a new parasite management plan? This service is perfect for you! Collect some stool from your animal and hand it off to us, we will identify the eggs present in the samples via a flotation technique, and then calculate the number of eggs your animal is shedding. This can be helpful if herds, when trying to identify which animals may require more frequent deworming treatments.

A FEC will be done prior to worming treatment, and then 10 to 14 days later a FECRT will be completed to assess the efficiency of treatment and identify any resistance parasites.

Contact Nibble Nutrition for more information on the collection process!

FEC / FECRT are available for the following animals: Horses, Donkeys, Cattle, Goats, Sheep, Poultry (and other birds), Llamas / Alpacas, and any other livestock that needs to be dewormed.

*I am currently not offering FEC / FECRT for dogs and cats, as it is best to consult your veterinarian if you believe your companion animal has worms.*
